Francesca Korbas is an experienced disability rights consultant, special education advocate, and former attorney with a career dedicated to supporting youth, families, and organizations navigating complex educational and civil rights systems. She is the founder of Equity Pathways Consulting LLC, where she provided accessible, collaborative training and workshops on ADA, Section 504, IDEA, and Title IX compliance. Her work supported both organizations and families, with a special focus on interest-based mediation and advocacy for students with diverse learning, emotional, and physical needs.
Prior to launching Equity Pathways, Francesca co-founded an educational consulting company, where she led the development of special education advocacy services, managed compliance, and built strong partnerships across the education community. Her earlier legal career includes time as a Special Education Attorney and as a Civil Rights and HIPAA Investigator at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, where she was recognized with the OCR Director’s Honor Award for her work on a university hospital settlement.
Francesca began her legal journey advocating for youth in care and protection cases with the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families. She is a trained mediator and a trained special education advocate with deep experience guiding families through the special education process with clarity and compassion.
She holds a Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies and Italian from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Francesca is also a sought-after speaker, having presented at events including the South Shore Conference for Women, Empower Women by Lexington Wealth Management, and local Special Education PACs. She has been featured on podcasts and community television, using her platform to educate and empower others.
