Dr. Timothy Markley was a seasoned educational leader and passionate student advocate. As the founding Senior Director of Student Defense at K Altman Law, Dr. Markley played a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s national student defense practice, guiding students through complex academic integrity cases, misconduct allegations, and Title IX proceedings. His leadership set the foundation for a team dedicated to safeguarding student rights and ensuring due process in even the most challenging circumstances.
With more than two decades of experience in education, Dr. Markley brought unmatched expertise to his role. He held a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University, an MSA in School Administration from Fayetteville State University, and a BA in History from the University of North Carolina, Pembroke. His previous roles included serving as Superintendent of multiple school districts, where he led transformative initiatives to boost student achievement and implement innovative educational programs.
Dr. Markley’s work was recognized nationally—he was named Southeast Regional Superintendent of the Year and was a frequent speaker at educational conferences. He also served as a University Field Supervisor at Appalachian State University, mentoring the next generation of educators.
