With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we remember our dear colleague and friend, Dr. Tim Markley, who passed away suddenly on June 21, 2025.
Tim served as the Senior Director of the Student Defense Division at K Altman Law, where he brought decades of experience as an educator, administrator, and advocate to the service of students and families navigating some of the most challenging moments in their educational journeys.
His calm presence, strategic insight, and deep empathy made him a trusted leader and mentor to our team—and a true lifeline for the clients he served. Tim championed justice with a quiet tenacity and treated each case and each person with dignity, thoughtfulness, and care.
He had a unique gift for cutting through the noise and finding what mattered most—for our clients and our mission. His impact on this firm, on the families we support, and on the field of education advocacy will endure far beyond his years.
We are better for having known him, for having worked beside him, and for continuing the work he believed in so deeply.
